My 2016 F26 X4 tribute to Vlad

So I bought this 2011 X5 in June 2018 from the original owner who I've known for a long time. He lives close to his office, and had only put 39K miles on it in 7 years. He babied the car and repaired every little thing it needed. After I owned it a couple of months, at 41K miles, the turbo blew out! Yep. It hurt to sink $4,600 into a new turbo, but I figured the car should be good to go for another 100K miles. Fast forward to a couple of months ago, at 50K miles, the transmission took a crap! BMW don't build them they way they used to folks!

Even though it was out of warranty, I asked BMW to give me a break on repairs; come on, the tranny on a $76K car should last longer than 50K miles. I didn't get any traction with that argument, so I asked them to give me a big incentive to buy another car from them. The fine folks at my dealer offered me $3K for it. So I took it next door to Carmax. They actually gave me a very decent offer as a trade.



I've never owned a red car, and it wouldn't have been my first color choice, but it was the only color Carmax had. Debadged it as the good lord intended, and added a carbon lip spoiler.



The car has the ///M package and is a total blast to drive. I must say the color (Melbourne, not zinno) has really grown on me.
