Dec 31, 1969

Post by LA »

I notice Dec 31, 1969 is listed as the 'member since' date for many of you. I expect quite a few members were not even born by that date and there was for sure no E28 in 1969 so I am skeptical about the existence of mye28.com at that time! I had assumed it had to do with an elite 'inner circle.'

Then, I tracked down a friend who joined sometime in 2006 and found his 'member since' date was...yep, Dec 31, 1969.
:?
Sorry but I just gotta know...

The old-old board (two generations before this one) was just threaded text on a single page, with time/date stamps on the posts. You'd have to find the first post for a particular person to determine when they "joined" (which didn't require registration). Unfortunately, many of the old-old board posts haven't made it through the transitions.

I think I've been around (consistently) for about 5 years. I'm not sure when my first post was. Can anyone remember when things first started?

I think that the people who have that as they're join date should approximate. I think just about everyone could get within a month or two of when they joined don't you?

About Spring 2003 is when I remember the Roadfly split...

Can't say I posted much if anything before 2002 but I hung around the Bimmer.org forum since 1999. See some of the same faces but many new ones!

Oct '97 or thereabouts for me on bimmer.org. Been on here since the first week, I'd have to ask William for the exact date of conception for MyE28.com. He probably has it somewhere. You MIGHT be able to find it by searching the Roadfly archives, there might be a reference or two that they didn't censor regarding the split.

Interestingly enough, we passed our first year anniversary under the phpBB software last month sometime without incident. :alright:

I remember us being on my2002.org for a while before William decided the E28 guys needed their own place after the split.
