Should be fun :D

The MLS arrived, it's .070" with 5 layers, it has two .020" flat shims with three .010" embossed layers with one in the middle.

I will coat each surface with copper spray since I have had no issues with the previous MLS that I coated. I was thinking to take out one .020" and the .010" layers to make it .040" thick but am undecided atm. Checked the valve to piston clearance with the old .070" and there was .080" clearance even with the cam advanced all the way.

Also modified the block and drilled coolant passages to match the M90 head. Should cool the head more evenly right..

I concur - I haven't had any problems with the MLS gaskets I've run on various cars. I always coat them in copper spray, let them tack for about 30 minutes, then install.

I went ahead and sprayed every side.

Looks like I have to cut a hole in the hood now, Or try to find a smaller exhaust housing.

Damn that is one massive turbo, especially the turbine housing.

Keep up the good work!!!

P.S. Is there any guide on how to change the head gasket? Things like how to remove it and how to be sure the car gear stays in position.

P.S. done :)

It runs, need to figure out the air filter and cut a hole in the hood, then off to the dyno to see what it can make/take. KABLAAAM!!

Just test drove it and damn it's laggy as hell, no boost in 1st, 2nd there is a little 3rd it starts to wake up and 4th it see's 10psi. But who wants to wait till 100mph to get boost. Maybe with some tuning it will wake up earlier but I think the HX40 is going back on.

That IS a huge exhaust housing that you are using. I'm sure a bit of tuning will help, but I don't know if it's going to help THAT much.

Very sick sick sick.
You're the reason why I put an m30 in my e30.

How much power did you estimate you made
on your last engine?

What are your power goals
on this one?

1.54 a/r.

Update.
The boost leak was from the compressor housing to intercooler connection, which was fairly large.

Once it was sealed up the whole ve map was screwed up like it was starving for fuel and would not want to rev at all.
So I switched the injectors from 2 squirts alternating to 2 squirts simultaneous and W0W what a difference. Throttle response is super crisp.

I guess the cam and B35 intake really opened up the air flow to the engine. I need to fix my lc-1 to do some tuning then off to the dyno.
One thing though the idle is so lopy like a cammed out V8

Exactly what model Schrick cam is it ?

Do you have a method for intake pressure leak testing other than a visual inspection?

Just visual, I knew it wasn't a great connection to begin with but I have the right size reducer on the way.

The #'s on the back of the cam 02201 84004 A8

Haven't had much time to work on the car but I did pick up an LM-2 and man what a difference over the LC-1, so much easier with no grounds to mess with.

I have been busy doing a B35 swap in an E30 for someone so I figured what the heck let's make a turbo manifold to work with A/C. Had some schedule 40 weld els laying around, need a few more to finish.

O.k it's done who wants, $700 shipped within the USA. I really hate making 6 banger manifolds PITA.

Update on the car, I swapped the HX40 back on and did a few data log runs to get the tune decent. It deff feels a lot more responsive and faster with the Shrick cam with less boost, will be heading to the dyno in a week or two.

Hmm you ditched the bigger garret? That would be a pitty as it's quite comparable of what I have under the bonnet. Although it has some differences.
