Replaced the driver's headlight. Might paint the grills tomorrow and start removing the hood installation.
Moved parts around also and made a list of all the stuff that needs done before getting her running again. Pretty much need to go over the entire fuel system
Wow! ATE Amber got pretty nasty in one year! I suspect and hope some of the icky stuff was from the PO's lack of flushing that didn't get completely cleaned out last year.
Drove it to my parents' house to sort out some wiring. The guibo failed catastrophically on the way over. I'll post pics later, it was literally ripped straight through.
Maybe paint will have to wait until after V@V
Being my late father's car and just installed a 325i motor and more, polished to mirror finish, I decided to take my mom for a ride to the drug store even though storm clouds were overhead. Seeing the smile on her face riding in dad's car made it all worth it.
Took off the wheels stands finally. (2 months) But only to put it on jack stands, to swap out the Bav Auto springs for new Eibachs. But after that (Well, plus a couple interior parts OTW), it's done for the summer !
Yeah right!
Well at least it'll be done till after V&V and Twisties.
messed with the gauge cluster because the temp gauge isnt working, in the process I screwed up the tach again!!!!
So I jacked with both sets of gauges that I have for a couple of hours and finally got the tach working! However I cannot get the temp gauge working still (maybe its the sender DUH!)
So instead of driving it for the first time in 6 or 7 years I repaired something I had already fixed...
Maybe I will get a chance to drive it this weekend. Everybody keep your fingers crossed!
Had it towed to the mechanic because it wouldn't start. Turn the key and nothing, no clicks, no attempted turnover. A little bummed at this point but hopefully fixed in a couple of days.
Noticed a strange random knocking in the front right tire area when turning left. After much deliberation I found that wheel loose on the hub. Damn strange considering the other three were torqued properly while this one was finger tight at best. Checked it, no damage, re-torque, test drive...no more noise.
Replaced the rear half of the exhaust with a bosal unit & found three (3) exhaust leaks in the rear pipe welding (sorry mexican quality). Reinstalled the "chip" drove home to Florida @ 80mph and got 22.4mpg. Sweet!
Finished up swapping the Eibach Pro springs in for the old Bav Auto springs. The back went down and the front went up 1/2", which is good. I like my oil pan in one piece. Don't worry it is still plenty low.
Installed the SS Big Mac sold me. I've seen light switches with longer throws!
e24 power sport seats... wiring harness REPAIRED!!!
The asshats at the yard thought it would be cool to just CUT the wiring harness to remove the seats. Nice work, Jim-bo.
