Yesterday/today I drained (into jugs) the old green coolant (I didn't put it in there) and flushed it with the hose. Then drove it with straight water in it. Flushed that with the hose and refilled it with 3 gallons of distilled water into which one gallon has as much dishwasher detergent (not soap) as it will dissolve. Drove it.
The saga continues tomorrow, stay tuned.

...noticed a low tire, promised myself i would take it for air at lunch, didn't, went to it after work, took it to the repair shop, tire was fixed, "How Much" I asked, he said "Nothin..just come back and buy tires some time..." "...also, come back and we will re torque the tire..." "I asked..."how much?" he said " 95 lbs..." I said " all of them ?" " "he said, kinda laughing, cause I was dressed like a business dude..." ya just say that to any body, they will know what you mean!, honest, no reason to worry, they know what they are doing..." " I kinda looked on in disbelief, kinda surprised, kinda thankful, kinda insulted, that this dude mistook me for someone who knows nothin,,..but,,..was flattered that I/me could be mistaken for someone who knows nothin..."

Same here. Getting the only M535i this year at V@V ready. 3 days for me! Got a surprize for ya' ll this year. Ted in T.O.swatterssr wrote:Nothing today,

-installed my style 29 wheels with cheap ass used Pirelli's and Firestone tires.
-installed Euro headlights
-installed rear headrest headrests (no brackets)
-fixed a PS leak
-replaced the belts
-lost a style 29 centercap
-installed iS rear wing
88 eta:
-installed new CSB
-repainted hood vents
-shadowlined tail lights
-painted rear amber TS lenses using red Tamiya fluorescent paint
-replaced fan clutch
-fixed water leak
-replaced some little dumb nicknaks under the hood
-oil change
-transmission pan replacement, new fluid
Next- rear dogbones (88 only)

Drove it to work. At a stop light on the way I smelled a strong gasoline smell. No big deal I thought (as I was right next to a gas station). I then notice that my fuel gauge is going down at an alarming rate. I get it to work to find a significant puddle on the ground where I parked. Somehow a 3 cm long chunk got torn out of my return line near the tank. I probably dumped somewhere near 5 gallons of gas on the ground in my 5 minute commute.
My brother is going to bring me some fuel line to patch it up before the trip home.

drove it
after being at the outer banks this past week i returned home and drove the 528e today. drives beautifully!
last work i did on the car was attempt to replace the cruise control switch with a new - from ebay - switch. the switch did not work unfortunately; so, i will have to reinstall the old one. the old one worked fine but a new one looked so much better! oh well....never can tell about ebay. like a box of chocolates!

Saturday on the 82-
changed the oil
cleaned the trunk out for the first time since buying it from Jay.
found chump change
feels great now with less junk in the trunk
attempted rear headrest bracket install, no joy
88-
washed it, as always. prepping it for it's 4 hour journey to DC for the rest of the week.

In the past two weeks I have discovered how hard the tinworms have been working.
Bumper mount
Trunk
Have also pulled entire rear suspension to find holes around axle carrier mounts. Not structurally weak, but needs patched for a sticker.
Ordering carrier bushings, and looking for a 110 welder to come over, or to put a 220 line in the garage so apelixude can bring his welder.
Was hoping to have respray done in time for Pgh Vintage Grand Prix in mid July, now just hoping to she can be driven there.

Let's see- first I hit all the window regulators/sunroof with grease, cleaned the contacts on all the switches, and voila, operable windows again!:D
While I had the grease out, hit the door strikes/hinges/hood catches.
Somehow my powerseat fuse blew, and the antenna wouldn't go down, replaced the fuse, all works, but still why it blew in the first place.
Had the top neck of the radiator break off yesterday, that was fun. A few tense moments watching the temp gauge rise until it burped all the coolant through the system. (after reattaching the hose to what was left of the neck, and refilling coolant)
All in all this car is a learning experience-not always fun, but I can't help but like the ol' girl nonetheless!

Spent some quality time pulling rocks, fents and burshes out from under my red car. Massaged the front valance back into shape, reattached the front Euro bumper, straightened the brackets for the rear Euro bumper, vacuumed all of the grass, dirt and burshes out of the interior and washed the car and also spent some quality time straightening and reattaching the driveshaft heat shield. Did an oil change with Valvoline VR-1 and put the track wheels on for tomorrow.
Then I felt sad since 5 minutes of rain this morning destroyed the paint on the car.
