Drove it. Was doing a u-turn in a parking lot with my youngest son riding shotgun & thought I'd impress him with some wheelspin. Went into it in 2nd gear at probably 3500 rpm & hit the go pedal thinking the inside wheel would spin like crazy (open diff, you know); we were both surprised when both rear tires broke loose and the rear end came around a bit.
"Whoaaaa! Dad you just drifted!"

With it having no problems, (only wants) I just took it for a 'drive'. It has been a while since i have just driven with no destination. It was nice.

Replaced Snob's low side port schrader valve and recharged the system.
That was Sunday.
Saturday picked up some new wheels and tires for The Beast.
Didn't get to swap them on yet.
Upon arriving home spent the next 10 hours helping a friend with some under carriage issues on his E34.

Finally got the tires on the 16" style 29s. Took em so long (nearly 1.5 hrs
) that he knocked 20 bucks off
I also did a shoestring alignment with my brother. I need to go for a free alignment check to see how I did before I put the new rubber on, but it looks pretty damned good. While I was waiting I picked up some oil, ATF, and brake fluid from the Napa next door. Hopefully the 5er will be ready for the upcoming semester.
Driving the e28 was a welcome relief from the w123 diesel, I love that car but I really like being able to take the occasional u-turn without shitting myself from fear of oncoming traffic.

Took some photos of it. OH and as I pulled out of a place I spun the wheels from the start of first right through to the very end of second(about 70kmph). I love wet roads.

Tuesday: made a frankenshaft for the 88. Installed german obc. Worked on my friends 635csi.
Wednesday: installed front struts on my boys 82 eta (wifes old car).
Today: still pissin around with my random cel due to a loose connection on a newish crank sensor (88 eta). Creative use of zipties will subside the issue for maybe another week. Dammit.

Zipties, gotta love 'em, as much as duct tape.

Installed a new washer bottle, which now makes my new coolant expansion tank look old.. and the motor's only got 1000km's on it
Sent the Hartge's off to be refinished, so painted the old green 15's off the piggy black, and put them on in the meantime. Fitted LED globe replacements for the headlight and foglight switches, as well as the lightbar for the OBC, so now for the first time since I bought the car 6 years ago, all the interior lights work.
Once the Hartge's come back from the painters, i'll fit the tyres off the Alpina's to the front, re-roll the guards in the rear as the 245's are rubbing slightly still under heavy load, get a wheel alignment and then drive it until I have the coin to put the turbo stuff back on. Also have the headlight squirters coming from pelican, so they'll be operational soon. Good times.

Another Hirschmann replacement antenna, fuse 5 (oops,) and a can of Ventil Sauber. Time to pay some attention to my newer cars before fall and winter. The e28 is pretty much ready.

Installed a newer CD player (Pioneer p4000ub), installed some parts that I bought from Alfonso Bedoya... (AFM, intake boot, floor mats) looked at the airdam I bought as well, need to paint it green to match the rest of the car.
oh, I also watched it leak coolant all over the ground from the radiator end cap.

Pulled the fuel injectors and replaced the leaky bits (O-rings), plastic washers, and pintle caps. Runs without bleeding gas now.
Also adjusted the hood release cable. And cleaned the dust off the car.

Middle-son is getting senior photos taken this evening, so he & I swapped on the BBS wheels from the e32. He would've been ok having it in his pictures with the bottlecaps, but now he's actually excited about it!
We were a bit rushed to get it finished up before he had to leave, so no time for a quick snapshot, but it looks good! (they are 17" wheels with tires that are too tall & wide for that car, so I don't think they'll stay on, much to his chagrin.)

tried to clean my ICV in an attempt to fix my sticky idle... result is that it is still sticky....
bass heavy songs occasionally knock it back down to 750, though sometimes it sticks at 1500rpm, heavy throttle blip will return to 1100....

That is highly excellent. Not much air comes out of that vent anyway. I think you're on to something.

Danke. Initially I was going to just pull the vent out and replace it with a solid panel, but I like this much better. Wasn't too difficult to cut the grille, and i'll just tap an extension onto one of the headlight switch globes to illuminate it. Vacuum can easily be run from under the dash, and up through the vent passage also. Nice and clean, and most importantly it's right where I can see it, yet not intrusive. I'm satisfied.
Also installed this today.. well. I put it where it belongs, and took a photo. Still waiting on the bracket to arrive. Thanks, Chris.

continued to hunt for the root cause of my high idle...
Cleaned and retensioned fuse 6, smacked the ICM, cleaned the ICV (twice) checked for vacuum leaks... found a couple hard hoses but liberal soaking didn't change RPM. 1500rpm fuel cutoff indicates my tps is ok, but I still have to verify. intake boot is new-ish, squeezed with no change in idle...
