I turned the boost up to 22psi for this race, 80-160.
Viper beeped it off, I was in 4th so from the start he jumped out a car which I would expect from a 200 shot of nitrous, by the end of 4th I had pulled a nose then shifting into 5th he shifted also and pulled a car on me, 1/2 way through 5th I started pulling on him but then he hit the brakes.
He said we were at 160 when he hit the brakes, so I lost by a car.
Viper owner says it dynoed 650hp 780tq, car was very fast.
You win some you lose some, I lost this time.
I would imagine the aerodynamics of your car at those speeds isn't favorable.

Sounds like it is time for 22+psi. Amazing car, G&T

I love your car becomes it proves, you don't have to everything perfect and be so anal about a build. You do it right, you fix what needs to be fixed and just get it done.

I would have to say that you're losing to some pretty heady competition. These aren't your run of the mill cars that are (barely) beating you...
Combining the best of both the E28 and E30, that's what I dig the most.

Just came back from the dyno, I have some spark blow out at 21psi so need to regap the plugs down from 24 to 20 and probably get a better coil pack and new wires. The junk yard parts can get you only so far:stickoutt
I raced an 06 Viper GTS with a 200 shot the other night from 80-160 on this exact tune and lost by a car.

Tires just fit and rub just a touch when it's full throttle. Thanks Jordan:buttrock

Who would ever think a single cam piece of shit would be this much fun:lol

Fawking awesome! woulda loved to see you hit that 500whp mark but meh close enough..

Is your heart set on the HX40 or will you be considering a future turbulator?

Damn!

Can you please give us a rundown on the longblock again? I can't remember what crank/block/head/cam you ended up with.

Once I fix the spark blowout 500whp should be doable, plus I think it needs some more boost
The HX40 might be at it's limit, the inducer wheel is only 59mm I am looking into upgrading to a bigger wheel.

Stock 86 B34 bottom end, unknown mileage, 1980 M90 head with an old Schrick 280/284 cam, double springs, Cometic HG, ARP's.

Otis, to help convert the speed run on the dyno jet to rpm can you give us some specs?

Gear
Diff
Tire Size

I'd really like to know when that thing spools.

I was just thinking this too. I don't understand why you would want a dyno chart for MPH. I hate it, I want to know when this sucker spools, not at what MPH.

Looks like 5,252rpms at about 105mph.
Was this in 4th gear?

4th gear
3.73
235/60/15
It spools around 3500rpm.

I think the HX40 might be maxed out, the inducer wheel is 59mm.

Dyno vid from today. tires spun on the first pull.

Here's a quick vid, sorry about the poor visibility.
08 Z51 supercharged with 700hp. I was running 18psi not 22 like the vid says, having boost problems. Lost by a car.

It would be fun to have your ECU mapped with the car strapped to a hub dyno, or a very grip-friendly roller. I think you could use more timing at 5000-6000 rpm where you spend a lot of the time in a run like that. As long as the dyno agrees, do it.
Just be careful with timing at 3500-4500 rpm, could be spot-on as it is.

You could use a larger turbo, that's for sure.

Preparing for the HX55.
I have been having some boost issues and started thinking there is some kind of restriction with my current exhaust setup. 4" down pipe then into 3" which has worked well but just wanted to be sure.

Image

Picked up a 10' length and two 45's, aluminized steel, big difference between the two for sure. Kind of felt silly while putting it in . even my wife was like "wtf are you doing"

Image

Here's it is all finished, ground clearance is good even over speed bumps.

Deff spools up a lot faster and stronger pull up top, traction really owns my ass now. 40 roll no way 60 roll is still a little squirrely.
Oh and it's deff louder than before.:lol

Next on the list is replace the BOV.
