Next come the fronts, along with the gray carpet.
They should be a bit easier, only requiring a bit of cutting, drilling, and adapting the harnesses.

Remembered that my wrecked E30 had a practically new ignition coil in it, so since the E28 is having engine hesitation issues I decided to try switching the new one over to it. Haven't had a chance to drive it yet, hopefully tomorrow I'll notice a big difference.

Lowered it 35mm, and gave it a wash.

Seats didn't happen. Need to source torx head bolts or something smaller than 17mm.

I started getting ready to put it away for the winter... I have a huge garage now but it clearly has mice.

I surrounded it with 2x4's with glue boards attached to keep the mice out of it.

Well that's not something I've heard of before. Don't think I have that problem but nice to know there's a good solution for it out there if I need it.

The thought having a nest of mice chewing on my wiring and new leather all winter drove me to come up with this solution.

I even put snap traps in the trunk.... I should just send it to Ron for the winter and have him do his magic on it!

I got in it to drive it to work this morning; first thing I noticed the gauge cluster was dead. Cool. It started up ok, but had a hunting idle. Cooler still. Popped the hood & checked Fuse 8, and sure enough, it was blown. Replaced it, closed the hood & I'm on my way.

My eldest son drove the e28 last week while waiting for a replacement A/C compressor for his e36. He switched back to driving his car last Wednesday; I thought it was odd, because his car still wasn't fixed, but didn't think to say anything about it. Now I know why. Some people's kids...

With a LOT of help from 1st 5er, replaced brake booster and clutch master cylinder - which broke of course (my first Uro experience) before we could even use it so will be replacing it again!

When I used to talk to my boss about some of the sales people under my watch, his usual first response was, "Who hired 'em?".

Installed a new oil pressure switch, removed the broken rad petcock, installed a new unit, reinstalled the coolant valve to find the lower hose finally failed (drip drip drip). Got rid of service lights (properly).

Car is crying into a drain pan. Had to drive the full size 85 Chev van home. Will install a replacement hose tomorrow, if I can find one.

I did replace the Expansion Tank on the Trunk...

One of the hoses were causing the fuel vapors to get into the trunk/cabin..

After we fixed, I could finally install this...:

Used my random orbital buffer and some glosshaus #2 compound on an orange pad for the very first time ever. RoyW used the buffer, but I've never put one to a car myself. I also did this Sunday and last night. Not today. Putting it away today though.

Car still looks crappy, though.

Welded hose barb in place of fuel pressure regulator in order to use rising rate adjustable regulator, and installed MSD 200 Lph/43 Gph upgraded fuel pump this past weekend.

Got in it to drive it to work today, but smelled gasoline, so popped the hood & worked the fuel lines around a bit to see if I could see where it was coming from. Ended up getting a good spray from somewhere near the T between the fuel rail and CSV. Crap. Time to break down and swap out ALL of the rubber fuel lines and plastic fittings like I should have done three years ago when I first got the blasted car. I ordered the fuel lines from BluntTech last month, and they're sitting in a box in the garage, waiting...

But now my leather gloves stink like gas, and it was ~40°F this morning.

Gave it a nice wash, polished up the black trim pieces as well so they look less faded and more black.

Yesterday I took out the kick panel and instrument panel and replaced all the bulbs in there with new LED's bulbs, but I forgot to take pictures, so I did it today with the Center Console.

I used super bright white LED's, most of them are T5 bulbs, but some are T10's. There are like 10 types of these so you have to make sure you use the ones that fit the opening for the bulbs.

I import and sell these for a living so I can pretty much tell you any LED for any car 30 years back. It's my job

Today I replaced my fuel filter. Probably hadn't ever been replaced. Before the car took 3 glow plug cycles to start when cold. Well, now it starts INSTANTLY after the first glow plug charge. I don't know why I waited so long to do this easy fix!

It has more low end power too!

Cleaned ICV, replaced vacuum hoses, replaced mickey mouse CAI, with factory box, with new air filter. What a difference that made. Car feels like it woke up, crisper throttle, and feel more power. Plugs and wires are new, next up is rotor and cap. I might try my luck with valve adjustment.

That needs to be quoted every time some noob comes around asking about aftermarket hot air intakes for these cars. Well done!

Took it into three digits yesterday... I need to get the 3.73 back in, the 2.93 has ZERO punch. It felt good to drive it hard again.

Took it down the hill from sandy eggo this morning. All i have is the front strut bar on, I can TOTALLY tell.

Sat it in pushing hard on the go pedal as I watched an E34 ///M5 go past and
then a tiny little E30 eta making a bunch of boosted noises goes hauling ass past too.

Just a little humble pie... Not so bad, is it?

Pulled the plugs and changed the oil.

Found out all the platinum 4's were shot to complete crap and for some reason #4 plug had a stack of 4 crush washers on it. Maybe that was why it was running like balls.

Removed stupid ass "cold air intake" and paid soccernut for a OEM air cleaner assembly. Ordered new plugs, vacuumed out the garbage and wiped the leather down with cleaner.

Found a set of wheels to ditch the 15" slugs on it now.

Now we wait a week for plugs to come in.
