Installed pedal bracket reinforcement w/ ss tab and bled the clutch system using the "kyle bleed" method.

Prior to install, I could hardly get the shifter into any gear. Although it is a lot better now, it still feels kind of notchy.

I checked the brake/clutch fluid and it was not low, although my power steering fluid was, not sure if that's related to the issue.

Anyone want to share any input/ideas?

Took Cassandra down to see Jay Neal in Durham this weekend. She's got all sorts of cool little parts waiting to go in her. But the major stuff was accomplished: she has a new quiet exhaust, and both passenger doors were replaced in one shot. Saturday was a very busy day. Amongst the cool parts included a shift knob, lighted switches, light switch and OBC bezels, later style air box, and some other knick knacks.

For Adalia: My new tires came in Friday. I figured I would give a controversial tire a try. It had mixed reviews on Tire Rack but were also on sale!! I bought 4 205/50/16 Fuzion VRi tires for $49 each. $249 shipped to my door for 4 tires, I couldn't pass that one up.

Also for Adalia I picked up my new Euro headlights and grilles from Tim at Leith BMW in Raleigh. The lenses are RHD but Ivo and Tim have helped me get that situated, so no issues. They NIB, never installed.

Nice and very busy past week!

My NIB LHD Euro low beams came in from Ivo yesterday. I quickly installed them on the new buckets from Tim and painted the Euro grilles. Ready to install tonight!

My experience has been that all SSKs are notchy, I think due to the change in geometry.








....and the Beast got his tags renewed today.

After getting them shipped across the country for next to nothing, I got these style 82s swapped onto my car today!



They're a little taller than the setup on there previously, but there is no rubbing in the back. The most startling thing is what properly balanced wheels did to immediately improve the handling and tighten up the jittery steering! Wow! I was about to drop a bunch of money on new steering components -- think I'll hold off on that for awhile. Spend the money elsewhere -- lord knows the list still beckons...

still havent found out the cause of the battery drain. have some ideas.

talked to a family friend with a welder to get my m5 swaybar mounts in, ordering brakepads soon for the front, preparing for a skidpad drift event this month!!

need to find a set of cheap wheels for my car as well. in the bay area.

as much as i love burning rubber in my e28 on the streets, in random parking lots, in a controlled environment, where they want me to, sounds like a blast. and no cops to worry about!! going to the limitless trackday with my ae86 friends was a BLAST even as a passenger!! thunderhill was FUUUNNER THAN NO OTHER!!

still putting away money for an NA 90-93 miata. i dont want my e28 to pay the 'drift tax"

Finally installed the the pedal bracket reinforcement kit with SS tab I got from David and the Interior light delay w/ auto dimming unit I got from George. The light delay has beet sitting in my garage for probably a year and the pedal bracket I have had for 3 months. Damn, why did it take me so long to do this?


I also just picked up my TCD turbo manifold from the ceramic coater and bought a set of E36 black leather power and heated sport seats from Craigslist that is in fantastic condition!

got a set of e34 weaves with good tires today from Jay!! schweet! along with a stock airbox that i've been looking for! he also hooked me up with some pretty screws for my TPS (beats the janky spring with single screw i had HAHA)
was also the longest road trip i have taken my e28 on since getting it, took it like a champ!! i feel as though i could drive another 220 miles on it no sweat. as ghetto as it is! hahah

Well, this passed Saturday I finally made it to the dealer to pick up some door latch bumpers. All 4 of mine were missing. Now, my doors ACTUALLY close all the way when I close them with normal effort.

Yesterday I finally got her out on some open road. Even with a piece of shit suspension, leaky downpipe/midpipe connection in the exhaust, and a noisy alternator bearing, this thing will still tear through gears. Even with the above mentioned problems (and when I say shit suspension, I mean every bushing and bellow needs replacing, bad) I still got a comment out of my father in law about how "smooth this thing is" on the freeways. Don't hit a bump thought because it all rattles apart around you. Makes you do one of these sometimes...Now if only it would warm up so I can try cleaning my seats. Got me some Lexol to try out.

New Fuel Filter, Air Filter, and a fresh tank with some open road. My car loves me now because it can finally breathe, runs so much healthier now

Repaired the right rear window by epoxying the glass to the bar (rivets are loose on the clips, but now it opens and closes smooth and quiet like new), and cleaned and greased all the door mechanisms (Auto Lock finally works like it ought to!).

Hit the Pick N Pull today and climbed around inside almost 10 BMWs looking for a green ICM (intermittent idle stumble makes me think mine is slowly going bad), none to be found.

But I did get some new kidneys for the front, some door mounted tweeters from the premium sound system, a new part to replace a broken door handle, and...


Some ARMRESTS off of an 85 528e/i (no badges), I'm gonna bolt these suckers to my seats tomorrow, give it a nice wash and wax in the driveway (sun for the next week!) and then hit the beach

I hit another DIY event with the CCA, trying to up my knowledge base. Standard oil & filter change but also changed my coolant for the first time (first time myself, that is). More to do but these things are out of the way.

I stripped the M5 interior down to metal, removed the prior owner's audio and alarm bits and installed a new throttle cable and odo gears. 206 lbs removed.

Now would be the time to decide if the a/c stays or goes. I don't need it and I ain't fixing it if it doesn't work.

I finally got around to putting on my stickers from the recent shirt and sticker sale.

The Beast got a quart of fresh VR1.

looked at what it takes to get my shawn d gauge mount working, now that i know what it is, and that its kinda coveted, so, i should get mine working, haha!
my car came with it, not installed, with a broken oil pressure gauge (all are autometers). no senders hooked up to my car, though i think i may have found some in my parts bins!
(i installed it shortly after getting the car, as a cosmetic thing, as i was impressed with the build quality of it, and how it transforms a relatively bland part of the console, into something functional.)
so more research is needed!
OTOH the battery drain at the back of my head (mentally) doesnt seem so bad, as i have done a ton of short trips in my car before (that i know it hates) and with +220 miles put on it last sunday, and no hiccups since then, i do believe the problem is mentally overblown. but no reason for me to not OCD on it and clean my grounds! (i know battery/volts are good)

Tore into my parts car. Sold the hood, rt. front fender, & rear spoiler this past weekend. Took lots of smaller bits off yesterday, e.g., back seat, parcel shelf, speakers, front bumper covering, front bumper. Next on the agenda (today) is the left front fender, front valance, passenger seat, door cards/arm rests, rear bumper coverings , and rear bumper. Still keeping it a driver for now, so I can move it around... but, it's days are numbered!!
