I did pick up an E36, but just to make manifolds. And I will never give up on the M30.
As for updates, haven't had time to mess with it. I did take it to the 1/8 mile a few months ago but never got a full pass.
It ran a 8.4 at 60mph, basically 1st and 2nd then letting off coasting through the lights, car still swaying all over.
Twisted the driveshaft and blew the guibo apart after a 6k launch that night.
Swapped the 3.73lsd to a welded 2.93 also.

Here's a quick 2nd to 3rd pull. traction is kinda there. I'll get some 4th gear pulls on the highway.

What kind of boost are you running now? So, since you went through the original headgasket on the stock motor, you haven't opened it up again?
Seems very reliable for what it goes through you done an excellent job in tuning and building this car. I Dont understand why there isnt more praise for this video. I posted your video on our local BMW site, and it got alot of jaw drops. Great work, is an understatement, but its all i got for now

That was around 18psi, I turned it down after the dyno. Haven't opened up after installing the MLS. I beat the heck out of the engine and it's still going.
Ordered a 10 point cage this week, I don't want to get kicked out on the first pass.

3.73final drive in my opinion is the best ratio for 1/4mile run if you are using a 26inx8 or 10 in. mickey thompson slics..and at your current whp..10s sec timeslip doable...and 130mph trap speed.regarding the 2.93final drive...too tall..you will be crossing the 1/4mile in 3rd gear.this is if you are using a getrag 260/6 or 265.

Here's my spark map, keep in mind I run E85 and wouldn't run more than 19* on pump gas. My VE table would be useless, it's for 850cc low z injectors.

Thanks, I'm running 94 octane with about 15% ethanol which is the best I can get here and on 79 lb/hr hi-z injectors. I have no idea where that will lead me but I'm also running the snow water/meth kit. Bought the tool to oring the block and arp's from Todd. I have no idea the safe limit for this setup so we'll see
Edit: all I know I'd I managed to get it to rev past 2000 today in the garage and I think my ears are bleeding. 4" downpipe to nothing right now. I'm just glad my truck is parked behind it so I don't get tempted to do something stupid.

Just got back from the track, and had great time. Made about a dozen passes. Track rental is the way to go, no lines and no 1 or 2 hour wait times to run.
Met up with Bigmac834 he's took some video of the runs. All in all had a great time, plus being the oldest car there with one of the highest trap speed made it even better.
All the runs were pretty consistent trap speed wise, here's the best pass.
Boost was around 20-22.

135.80 mph trap speed! That calculates to 600+ rwhp at 3100lbs of total vehicle weight.
That's a serious amount of power.
Nicely done! Slicks and e85?

So the motor is holding up well at 20psi? Had any mechanical issues?
