I did the Ps hoses earlier this year, and those 2 lines by the cooler were very nasty.
After finding it was vary hard to pull them off (after loosening the cooler itself) I decided to just cut them up.
What a pain in the @#&!!!! those little bitches had embedded steel wires running lengthwise!
Note that my car is an early '82 528i; YMMV.

My 3/85 528i had that. I was angry. My 7/75 530i had normal hoses too. 3/75 date codes on them.

Had it towed only to have it fire right up when it got home. It's been a shitty day.

Finally got around to fixing what was would be fire roasted e28, if it hadn't been solved.
This POS was removed...
and after cleaning the connectors, a new (correct) battery was put in place.
Have to say if I hadn't posted on this forum, I wouldn't have realized this problem.
So Thanks Guys!

Took out my Lama power comfort seats and replaced them with Black Recaro SE's mounted to manual comfort bases. Any one looking for Lama?

Finally removed the last stud holding in the 4,5,6 header (broken) using the proper tools and techniques.
Santa didn't bring me a lift or an engine hoist, so I have the install to look forward to.

My son tried to drive it to work this morning but couldn't open the doors; frozen shut.
It hasn't been driven since it got snowed on a few days ago; Monday the temps warmed up enough to melt some of that snow, then the we got some sub-zero weather, and I'm afraid those door seals are firmly attached to the door jambs. It'll have to wait until things warm up a little. It's 0° F right now, but we should see a sunny 28 tomorrow; that ought to do the trick!
